Upcoming Discussion Threads
**The Government needs to get out of regulating marijuana. Let the states either decide not to allow it or profit from it. The government reporting something is illegal and states legalizing the same thing is not an effective form of government. The government would save a lot of money getting out of the marijuana game and the states have the opportunity to make money which would also increase employment opportunities.
**Pros and Cons of Legalizing Prostitution.
**Should the government borrow more money to extend Unemployment Benefits.....I say yes, as soon as there is money in the checkbook to do it, at this time we are more in the red than ever in history, so for now, I say NO. Let local government find the money through creative money making to take care of their community ie. taxing legalizing marijuana, taxing legalized prostitution establishments, fund raisers, etc. Would American's rather see people starve and not be able to pay their bills, than to see people who already use marijuana and prostitutes, safely and legally obtain the services they use regardless of the law anyway.
**Should students in public school have to show proof of their citizenship or pay tuition. I say yes. We provide services and pay for illegal aliens to get their education while we can't afford in many school districts to even give books to each child so they can study at home for tests. U.S. citizens should not be paying for the education of illegal aliens. Citizenship should be proven.
**Welfare reform, should women who have more babies while they are on welfare, get additional financial benefits or have to budget what they are already getting. Should there be a lifetime cap on how many years a person can obtain welfare benefits.
Government in Health Insurance....bad for you, me, and the country
The government is in serious possibly irreversible debt to China and other countries. People in America are struggling to put food on the table. Was it appropriate for the government to spend millions of borrowed dollars on the Health Insurance reform? Is it time to force people to get health insurance or be fined for not being able to afford it?
On this question my own answer has evolved. When a country has a strong economy, and the people are not struggling to pay the bills, I believe in a more socialistic health insurance program that benefits everyone. THIS WAS NOT THE TIME!
More debt, hurting people, government fines, shows the administration has no idea what it is like to be an average American. In an ideal world everyone would have everything they need financially, health insurance, food on the table, a great job, a free education, but this is not an ideal world. Life can be difficult; sometimes we have to do without. Many of us know what that is like. It is just a shame that the government is making things more difficult for the majority of Americans who now have lost insurance or rates went up because of the new Obama care. Some American's have been positively affected by this but the majority has had negative effects. Fellow Americans, all of the politics, government shutdown, favors called in, in order to get this health care plan moving forward has been so costly to an extremely broke government. This is not a shining moment for this country and it certainly has not helped us to become a stronger nation. It is unfortunately time to think about the debt and put the social programs on hold. Leave the social programs for states, for local communities, for fund raisers and churches to help the unemployed, hungry, and needy. I can't help others financially because my bank account doesn't have enough money. The government has no money either so they need to get out of the socialist business.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT.....Don't Take My Word For It. Seek the Truth!
I may be a Christian, but should the foundations of our laws be based on Christian beliefs when we live in a melting pot of many beliefs? When a politician mentions other candidate’s religious beliefs or runs on their religious affiliation American's should consider not voting for that candidate. America is in a financial crisis. We need a commander and chief, senate, and congress, who are more worried about balancing the government checkbook than trying to make others look bad and finding new ways to spend more government money to make them look like they have a worthy platform to run on. Americans, until this debt is paid down, the only platform these politicitians should be running on is decreasing the deficit. It can be done. The government can save money. It's time to give more power to the states and take the governments hand out of social issues, ie. gay marriage, legalizing of marijuana, gun control, social programs, health insurance, etc. We may be "One Nation Under God" at church, and in our hearts, but we are not all a nation who believe in the same God, but I do believe we "ALL" are American's that want a strong nation and until there is a strong American dollar, we are kidding ourselves if we think our nation will be stronger with more social programs and more government control with things that should be on a local level, instead of balancing the checkbook. It may hurt getting out of debt my fellow Americans, but this debt will kill this nation. Its time for the government to listen to the people and start digging us out of the debt hole they have put us in.
